Published!

I am extremely excited and lucky. Yesterday Let's get Crafting Crochet Special came out in the shops and yours truly has a small paragraph on the 18 reasons why to crochet along with a piccy of a chameleon (one of my favourite ami's). Thought I would give the heads up and am honoured! Am back into the production, more ami creations to follow shortly, thinking of unusual designs ;)

Hello All! I have exciting news -I have had my first commission to make a toy through Etsy! YAY. I was very excited and the little guy is making his way to the USA as we speak! (Pictures to follow soon).

I have also updated my Folksy as I didn't realise I hadn't updated it since Christmas (I know I am very bad ;)

Folksy

Here is the link direct to my Folksy shop homepage!!

I am also setting up my Etsy shop properly now and considering things to add to the site (thinking adoptable amigurumi puppies.. in the works).

Have been making like mad to keep my mind of the everyday depressing things and will post very shortly what I have made (sorry for the lack of posts, promise to have something more interesting soon).

Crafty as it goes

It has been a hectic New Year for me in life, family and work, but I have still had time to craft, craft, craft!!! I just love to do it! I have now put some bits and pieces on my etsy site and truly hope to sell something soon (exciting!!!), locally I have been selling gloves thanks to the cold weather and boy has it been chilly!!!

So what have I been making? Well felt Walkers crisps, No Face from Spirited Away, Calcifer from Howls Moving Castle amongst penuin amigurumis!! Also been making Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas - the more unusual and challenging the better. What have I got coming up??? Seven sins in Dotee form and Felt food that you get at Alice in Wonderlands tea party - watch this space! I am thinking blues and whites with jammy hearts alllll over!

More unusual things I have also been doing is a Domokun stuffie (Japanese character - google it, he is super cute and a little scary!!!) as well as a Onigiri Rice ball plushie (also super cute - a kawaii Japanese food character -they do the weirdest sweetest things!) and a little amigurumi dragon for my partner's chinese zodiac symbol for the new year! He loves marshmallows and is still using his training wings!

Lucky Charms and Pikmin Oh My!

Well when I was a kid, we had this fab cereal called Lucky Charms which I absolutely adored! And one day it disappeared being a kid I was DEVASTATED! But my inner child is now satisfied as my wonderful dad brought home 6 bags of the stuff! YUM. Unfortunately my partner who has never tried now loves it and we are both hooked. Doh!

I made a Tortoise for my 2009 Amigurumi swap, she likes anything cute and amigurumi, so thought this would fit the bill, along with some cadburys chocolate as this fella is going to USA.

Lastly have a nintendo swap and instantly thought PIKMIN! I loved this game when it came out and my partner can testify how upset I was when the first of my little guys died and 'went to heaven'. How am I supposed to know Red ones don't go in water and yellow ones set alight?! I made a yellow one for the swap as I think they are the cutest with their ears (may have to make an entire set for myself...hmmm)

Been Busy Bee

As I said earlier I am addicted to swap-bot and making, I thought it might be nice to add piccys of what I have been making! Please excuse the quality of my pics, I need to find out what setting has magicaaly appeared on my camera!

First there is the christmas amigurumi lights I have made for a christmas swap - the bulbs have little faces on them, I tried to capture the essence of christmas coloured bulbs! They also pop out so that you can swap them around!

Then I made a black Greyhound with a collar by request from a friend for christmas! He was really fun to make! The collar is also deatchable. His name is Lad. My friend owns a shop and her blod is in my list under Two Fish and a Chick with Sticks! Caron is very talented, spinning, dyeing, knitting and more - I recommend checking her shop out.

I then had a swap to make a Totoro from the Ghibli My Neighbour Totoro - he was too cute so i sent the original blue one and ended up making this grey one for myself! (Now my partner likes him and I have to make a pink one for myself - oh the drama!)

Then I have also included a piccy of my space where things I create and things I have received have their sanctuary! There are other swaps there waiting to go out including friendship bracelets (close up included) and tawashis (Japenese cloths that are quite quirky).

Amigurumi, Stuffie, Softie Swap-a-holic!

I am very very new to the blogging thing but felt it was time to start one of my own. I am 24 years old, got a Bachelors at Art University and now work for a solicitors! The last year or so has been really exciting for me as I moved into my first flat with my long term partner of 6 years - true love!

I am completely obsessed by knitting and crochetting and have suddenly come across a new site Swap-bot.com. You join swaps of your choice and make things to send to people and receive things in return, it is now my new new obsession! I have only participated in a couple so far but there are many more for me to join. My blog is going to be about things of a crafty nature - things made for swaps, new designs, crochet, knit and just things for fun! I hope you enjoy it!
